Plains Chiropractic & Acupuncture and BIRTHFIT Grand Forks is here to educate, support and empower you throughout the parenthood transition. Our goal is to inspire and educate our patients to become active participants in their own well being. We offer care for all AGES & STAGES of life.

Pregnancy Care

Dr. Natalie Muth has advanced education in prenatal chiropractic care including supportive movement and exercises to help with pregnancy-related issues like back, hip and pubic symphysis pain. Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you should live with musculoskeletal pain. Our goal is to provide you with chiropractic care: the most safe and effective treatment for musculoskeletal pain during and after pregnancy, making you as comfortable as possible. Dr. Natalie is also certified in the Webster Technique, a specialized way of analyzing the pelvis before performing an adjustment.

Many women also experience musculoskeletal pain. These are caused by the woman’s changing body preparing for birth. There are drastic changes in the woman’s posture, gait and even breathing. During pregnancy your biomechanical changes reduce joint integrity and can lead to easy injury of ligaments and cause tingling, numbness or even pain.

Pregnancy Conditions and Symptoms:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Headaches

  • Pubic symphysis and pelvic floor pain

  • Round ligament discomfort

  • Glute and leg pain

Postpartum Care

Dr. Natalie Muth has advanced education in postnatal chiropractic care including physical rehabilitation following birth. After the baby arrives, the two most common issues Dr. Muth sees are difficulty breastfeeding and healing from delivery. After pregnancy, your body is healing and rebounding from spinal instability and over-stretched abdominal tissue, and post-partum rehab is often neglected. The team at Plains Chiropractic & Acupuncture is able to help aid postpartum recovery by evaluating and managing these issues with acupuncture, chiropractic, therapeutic exercise, nutrition and manual therapy.

Postpartum Conditions and Symptoms:

  • Neck pain and headaches

  • Back pain

  • Postpartum care & rehab (diastasis recti, pelvic floor pain, pubic symphysis disorders)

Pediatric Care

Dr. Natalie Muth has advanced training in Pediatric Chiropractic care beyond the general Chiropractic training including infant, toddler, preschool, school age and adolescence. With this focused training she is able to provide natural and gentle solutions to many common childhood ailments. Pediatric care is different than adult care. The team at Plains Chiropractic & Acupuncture uses the lightest touch and offers home instructions and exercises when appropriate to improve outcomes. The best thing about pediatric care is being able to make such a huge impact in a families quality of life so quickly!

Pediatric Conditions and Symptoms:

Some common things parents bring their babies to Plains Chiropractic & Acupuncture for are:

  • Breastfeeding difficulties

  • Torticollis or difficulty turning the head

  • Ear infections

  • Headaches

  • Neck, back and leg pain
